Local in the Know: Katrina from Ikatan Spa

Tell us a secret only a local would know:
Life is not ‘one big holiday’ when you live on the coast.

What is your favourite time of year on the coast and why?
Spring because all the frangipani are in flower at Ikatan Spa.

What do you do to relax on the Sunshine Coast?
Run with my friends in the park, stand up paddling in Noosa's waterways and eat out.

When friends and family come and stay, what do you recommend for them to do during their stay on the Sunshine Coast?
Everglades Cruise with Discovery Group – It’s so pristine and relaxing. You have to see the everglades to believe it.

What is the your favourite aspect about living on the coast?
Living near the water and hinterland at the same time.

What is your idea of a perfect day spent on the Sunshine Coast from dawn to dusk?
Run in the national park and then coffee at Le Monde with friends. Spend the rest of the day at Ikatan doing what I love, and then enjoy dinner with friends.

What is your signature treatment?
Boreh wrap and massage as it is an ancient and traditional Balinese treatment that make you feel energised as well as relaxed.
What treatment would you recommend to guests visiting the coast?
The Chi massage is popular for the amazing effects it has in relieving stress. Plus everyone loves a massage!
Explain the atmosphere of your spa:
Ikatan Spa is a Balinese Village surrounded by tropical gardens yet offers highly effective anti aging facials as well as traditional cultural treatments and now a separate garden for weddings.  It's like nothing else in Australia!
What sets your spa apart?
Ikatan is authentic in everything offered from setting to treatments. No other spa or salon is set in such amazing gardens. Our clients can’t believe such a place exists when they experience Ikatan and that’s exactly why we built it.
